Week 7 NCAA Predictions

Well last week I did not have a computer to log in my picks for the week, but I kept up with it anyway. Even though I did not think South Carolina was going to beat Alabama at all, I still came up with a pretty good record and went under 10 losses. I improved for the second week in a row. This time I jumped up 4% to 80.5%. A lot of key games this week also, so it is going to be really tough to maintain it. The picks I got wrong last week were Syracuse/South Florida, Illinois/Penn State, Northern Illinois/Temple, Georgia/Tennessee, South Carolina/Alabama, LA Monroe/FAU, Purdue/Northwestern, East Carolina/Southern Miss, and New Mexico/New Mexico State.

Top 25 Week 7

Well due to the lack of a laptop at USC for a couple of week I was unable to post anything, but I'm back. The Top 25 overview is the first segment since my absence. Many movers in the 25 this week. Miami and Michigan dropped out of the ranks, while Oregon State and West Virginia make their way back in.

Top 25

1. Ohio State (6-0) The Buckeyes handled the Hoosiers in the 1st half last Saturday, and didn't have any problems holding them back. Ohio State does jump one spot in the rankings due to the loss by Alabama. OSU finally plays someone besides Miami(FL) this weekend. They go to Wisconsin and face the Badgers in a KEY Big 10 game. I had OSU losing one game this year and for the second week in a row the #1 team falls.
Projected Record: 11-1

2. Oregon (6-0) Even though the Cowboys from Oklahoma State have the "#1" offense in the nation, no one can say that if the Ducks were to face them they wouldn't put more than 40 on them. No one can stop this explosive offense for the whole game. Your at least going to yeild 30 against the Ducks, which is a bad day in Eugene. The Ducks have a bye week this week, but I'm sure they will keep their spot since Boise faces someone with 1 win...
Projected Record: 12-0

3. Boise State (5-0) Boise State gets back to the #3 spot in the rankings. Right now the Broncos sit in the title game against Oregon due to the strengh of schedule and quality of their wins, but that will change after they go deep into their conference schedule. They play a BAD San Jose State team this week and will go through the first half of their season without a slip up.
Projected Record: 12-0

4. TCU (6-0) The Horned Frogs also take advantage of the Bama loss by moving back up to where they once were. They shutout another opponent this week, and their defense looks better than Boise's. Since the Broncos beat TCU last year in the Fiesta Bowl, if both of these teams were to go undefeated the edge would go to Boise State to go to the title game in my opinion. They face a struggling BYU team this year and should put up a lot of points while yeilding a little.
Projected Record: 12-0

5. Nebraska (5-0) The Cornhuskers are looking like the most impressive team in the Big 12 since they have an offense this year. It is usually a defensive game when you play Nebraska, but Martinez brings something to this offense that they have needed. They face a Longhorn team that is fighting to stay over .500. The edge goes to Nebraska and will show no compassion for Texas.
Projected Record: 12-1

6. Oklahoma (5-0) The Sooners are trying to prove their case that they are the best team in the Big 12. They face Iowa State this week which should be no trouble for the Sooners. The games the Sooners are going to have to worry about this year are against teams like Texas A&M and Oklahoma State. They will most likely enter the Big 12 title game with one loss and I think they will have what it takes to dethrone the Cornhuskers.

7. Auburn (6-0) Auburn along with many SEC teams survived a scare this past weekend. The Tigers had to rely on the legs of Cam Newton to take them to victory and it certaintly worked as he ran for close to 200 yards and 4 TDs. The Tigers host the Razorbacks this Saturday, which should be a high scoring game. The Razorbacks don't have much defense, but they do have a offense that can light up the field. I think the Tigers take care of buisness this Saturday, but are going to have to worry about their last game of the year, Alabama.
Projected Record: 11-1

8. Alabama (5-1) The Tide slipped up in Columbia this past weekend as the Gamecocks surprised Nick Saban and Alabama. The running game was a no show, and the defense could not cover Alshon Jeffrey. The Tide will have a far less talented team as they face Ole Miss. Alabama is no longer the #1 team in the nation, so they gives them something to play for now. They need to win out to have a chance to be in the National Title game.
Projected Record: 12-1

9. LSU (6-0) The Tigers have manages to sneak past another SEC opponent. This time it wasn't an opposing blunder, but a fake field goal that was reminicient of the game against USC a few years ago. The Tigers play a team that has no importance at all this week, McNeese State. The Tigers will improve to 7-0 before they face Auburn which I think will be a #6 vs #8 matchup.
Projected Record: 10-2

10. South Carolina (4-1) The Gamecocks jump into the Top 25 by beating the top ranked Crimson Tide. The last time the Gamecocks were this high was a couple of years ago and then fell apart against the second half of the USC/UNC game. The Gamecocks do not need another let down like they did that year. The Cocks still have many challenges this year including Florida, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt. Yes I said Vanderbilt because USC has trouble against them every year. The face Kentucky team this week that is dangerous, but I think the Cocks will overcome it.

11. Utah (5-0) Right now, a consider the Utes to be nothing, but a boost for TCU. When they play each other Utah might be in the Top 10 which will look good for the Horned Frogs later on in the year. They play Wyoming this week that is 2-4, and if Arkansas beats Auburn than the Utes will get jumped in the polls.
Projected Record: 10-2

12. Arkansas (4-1) The Razorbacks have come close in a lot of games this year and only one has resulted in a loss. The Georgia and Texas A&M were only a one TD game, and the Razorbacks are going to have to play better if they want to preserve wins this year. They face Auburn at Auburn this week which will be BIG SEC game. The Razorbacks still have South Carolina and LSU on their schedule after this week is over with.
Projected Record: 9-3

13. Michigan State (6-0) The Spartans look REALLY tough right now. For the past two weeks they have found a way to shut down the opposings team best offensive weapon. The Spartans are absolutely looking for a Big 10 title this year, but will have to continue to play their butts off as they are not as talented as an Iowa team. The Spartans do not face Ohio State which is good, but the Hawkeyes will get the Spartans. They face Illinois this week, which might be close.
Projected Record: 11-1

14. Stanford (5-1) The Cardinals are trying to get back on track after there BIG loss to Oregon a few weeks ago. They squeeked by Southern Cal last week by a last second FG which isn't good since Washington also beat the Trojans the same way. The Cardinals have a bye week this week to get their head on track before playing Washington State, which they can play headless probably.
Projected Record: 10-2

15. Iowa (4-1) The only reason Iowa is not a Top 10 team right now is because of their blunder against Arizona in the beginning of the season. The Hawkeyes have been winning inpressively since then, by beating Penn State by 21. The Hawkeyes take on Michigan at the Big House after a bye week. Using a WR in practice to play QB, should help out the Hawkeyes ALOT.
Projected Record: 10-2

16. Florida State (5-1) Florida State is back, when questioned are they the favorites in the ACC. They won impressively against Miami and this week they take on an Atlantic foe, Boston College, who has been struggling. The Seminoles will become 6-1 and eventually represent the Atlantic in the title game.
Projected Record: 9-3

17. Arizona (4-1) I don't know what all the talk is about his Wildcat team. Some say they have one of the best defenses in the nation, I say they gave up 54 points against ranked teams. They can't stop the BIG boys so they are not BIG either. They aren't the favorites in the Pac-10, nor second, or third. They face Washington State this week, which will be easy for Arizona to come out with a win.
Projected Record: 8-4

18. Wisconsin (5-1) The Badgers only have one slip up in their schedule and that is against a Sparty team that is playing really good football at the moment. Wisconsin beat up on Minnesota and had the Gophers coach crying at the end of the game because he went for two. Boo-Hoo. Wisconsin hosts the Buckeyes at home this week and have all the tools to dethrone the Buckeyes.
Projected Record: 11-1

19. Neveda (6-0) By the time Neveda and Boise State play, both of them will be highly ranked which will look good for either team if they come out with a win. There is no shot that the Wolfpack will make it to the National Title, unless every team gets two losses, and that still might not be enough. The Wolfpack have to just play for pride right now, and see what happens. They face a offensive heavy Hawaii this week in Paradise.
Projected Record: 11-1

20. Oklahoma State (5-0) The Cowboys have been showing off thier high scoring offense all year and it has given them an undefeated record to this point. They played UL-Lafayette last week which was no contest for the Cowboys. This week they face another pass heavy team, Texas Tech. The Cowboys should come out winners this week by forcing turnovers.
Projected Record: 10-2

21. Missouri (5-0) The 4th team from the Big 12 that is still undefeated is the Tigers from Missouri. They are 3rd in points against, but their toughest opponent thus far would be a toss up between Illinois and Colorado. The Tigers will learn the hard way as they face Texas A&M this week.
Projected Record: 9-3

22. Florida (4-2) Not out of the rankings just yet. Urban Meyer has to get things back on track this week against Mississippi State or they will be in the same case as Texas. The Gators are still a good team though, LSU had to pull the fake FG out, and lucked up with a TD in the closing seconds. Florida is still my favorite in the East despite their two losses and USC beating Bama.
Projected Record: 10-3

23. Air Force (5-1) The Falcons are a tough team in the MWC this year. They have a good chance at beating Utah, but maybe not against TCU. The Falcons only loss in their schedule is to Oklahoma just like FSU. The Falcons are looking to make a run for the MWC crown, but they will get stopped short by TCU.
Projected Record: 10-2

24. Oregon State (3-2) The other team in the Top 25 with two losses is the Beavers. Their two losses this year are against TCU and Boise State. They have also defeated a ranked Arizona team. This Beaver team is good, and has had one of the toughest opening starts in college football. They are the best shot at Oregon losing a game this year, but don't think they will get it.
Projected Record: 8-4

25. West Virgina (4-1) I don't think any team in the Big East is good this year. WVU is the best team, and might look really good during the course of Big East play, but they are not that impressive. The Mountaineers will represent in Big East in the BCS, but it might not be pretty. They face South Florida and Skip Holtz this Thursday.
Projected Record: 11-1

Top 25 Week 6

Two teams dropped out of the Top 25 that have been their for years and years. Southern Cal and Texas both were dropped out of the rankings. Southern Cal couldn't contain Jake Locker and Texas couldn't do the same thing with Landry. Four new teams have jumped up in the ranks and now fill up the last four spots in the rankings. Here is this week's Top 25 overview.

Top 25

1. Alabama (5-0) The Tide looked as strong as ever as they dismantled Florida saturday. The Gators couldn't stop the running attack over find any way to score a TD against the Tide. Some comparisons this week were to a NFL team, others to the team last year. Alabama's offense is way better than they were last year, and the defense is about the same. The Tide head to Williams-Brice Stadium this Saturday. After defeating the SEC East favorite by 25, the Tide should have no problem.
Projected Record: 13-0

2. Ohio State (5-0) The Buckeyes had a hard time with the Illini without Terrelle Pryor. Even with Pryor the Buckeyes did not handle Illinois that well.Do they still deserve to be #2? I think they do, but will they survive their tough Big 10 schedule? I don't think they will. For now the Buckeyes stay at #2, and will next week to as they face Indiana this week.
Projected Record: 11-1

3. Oregon (5-0) The Ducks jump Boise State this week with a very impressive win over a good Stanford team. In the first half it looked like the Cardinals might run away with it, but like the Tennessee game the Ducks took over at the end of the first half and kept up their momentum. Big defensive plays, huge offensive plays, and just overall pure talent gave Oregon the game. Oregon faces a Washington State team that might be the worst in the Pac-10. Expect a HUGE game from James and Barner.
Projected Record: 12-0

4. Boise State (4-0) Boise State lost their #3 spot to Oregon after putting up style points against their opponent. They only bad thing about Boise State's opponents is that is was New Mexico State who hasn't even won a game this year. Kellen Moore had a huge game which might have helped his Heisman status. Boise still has to have all team except one to have one loss on their record for them to be in the title game this year.
Projected Record: 12-0

5. TCU (5-0) TCU stays at #5 with a shutout win against Colorado State. This was TCU's first shutout win on the road since their head coach stepped on to the field for the Horned Frogs. The Horned Frogs are in a tough situation also regarding the national title. They will need a Boise State loss only with everyone else to make the title. They face an alright Wyoming team this week at home. Not another shut out, but still a good win for TCU.
Projected Record: 12-0

6. Oklahoma (5-0) Oklahoma jumped up two spots in the ranks after finally winning the Red River Rivalry. Texas has been controlling the game for the past years, but the Sooners got the Longhorns when they are down. Landry and Murray both looked really impressive in the win for the Sooners. The Sooners have a bye week this week, so they will most likely lose one spot to their Big 12 North foe, Nebraska.
Projected Record: 11-2

7. Nebraska (4-0) Nebraska had a bye week last week which made them lose one spot to Oklahoma. Nebraska has a big game on Thursday against an undefeated Kansas State team. The Cornhuskers are going to have to shut down Daniel Thomas who is impressing a lot of people this year. If Nebraska comes up with a win here, they will jump Oklahoma.

8. Auburn (5-0) After beating a Louisiana Monroe team this Saturday, the Tigers have jumped up two spots to #8. They were helped out with losses by Florida and Stanford. Auburn takes on another SEC East opponent this Saturday facing a Kentucky team that will have to battle Ole Miss from being the worst team in the SEC. Auburn should take care of buisness against the Wildcats.
Projected Record: 11-1

9. Arizona (4-0) I'm not sure about this Wildcat team at all. They jumped up two spots this week with the losses by Florida and Stanford also. Arizona plays a very dangerous Oregon State team that has only lost to Boise State and TCU. I'm going to say that the Wildcats slip up against the Beavers that barely beat California a few weeks ago.
Projected Record: 9-3

10. Utah (4-0) Utah was another team with a bye last week and they jumped into the Top 25. To get any shot of major respect they are going to have to get some style points against Air Force and beat TCU. Utah plays a Big 12 team this week, but it is a team that is not that great. They are going to have no problem against the Cyclones this Saturday.

11. Arkansas (3-1) The Razorbacks took a week off, and now they play a Texas A&M that came up close against the Cowboys from Oklahoma State, but was just short. After how explosive Arkansas was in the first half against Alabama, their is no question they will have trouble hanging with anyone this year. The Razorbacks still have to play everyone else in the SEC West which will be hard to come out of, but the Razorbacks will do pretty well.
Projected Record: 10-2

12. LSU (5-0) This was the most interesting finish I have seen in a long time. I was switching through channels from the Michigan State/Wisconsin game, Va Tech/NC State, and the LSU/Tenn game. After seeing LSU snap the ball over the head of the QB, and turned the game off because well it was over. Or was it? 13 people on the field. Worst finish ever for a team. LSU is 5-0 most importantly. They face Florida this week in Gainesville after the Gators were embarressed by the Tide. This one is a tough one to call, but I have to give the edge to the Tigers.

13. Miami(FL) (3-1) Miami had a really tough win against Clemson this past weekend. The Hurricanes were able to sneak past the Tigers, but now they play the Seminoles this week down in South Beach. This is a tough matchup for the U, as Florida State is no joke. Miami is still the leader in the ACC coastal, but this week will test how good they are.
Projected Record: 9-3

14. Florida (4-1) The Gators had a really tough week against the Tide the last week. Throwing jump pass picks in the endzone, and just getting close to nothing done against Alabama. This week the Gators host a very dangerous LSU team who squeked by the Vols last week on a Tennessee mental lapse. Both teams are struggling on offense and LSU has the edge on special teams with Peterson. The edge goes to LSU, but the Gators still might control the SEC East.
Projected Record: 10-3

15. Iowa (4-1) The Hawkeyes jumped up a few spots after dominating Penn State which dropped the Nittany Lions out of the rankings. The defense looked top notch, and it seems Iowa is getting back to what they were last year. Iowa has a bye week this week before they take on an explosive Michigan team.

16. Stanford (4-1) The Cardinals looked impressive in the first quarter against the Ducks in Eugene, but that soon changed as Oregon stepped it up about ten notches to dominated the Cardinals in every category you could think off besides losing. The Cardinals prove they have a legit team though. The Cardinals face Southern Cal this week which should be a tough

17. Michigan State (5-0) The Spartans upset a really good Wisconsin team last week as they won impressively. The Spartans offense was the biggest surprise last saturday as they put up a lot of points on the Badgers. The Spartans take on Michigan this week so that means they are going to have to contain Denard Robinson. Greg Jones is going to have a TALL duty this week.
Projected Record: 10-2

18. Michigan (5-0) The Wolverines faced off against Indiana last week and the Michigan defense had a hard time stopping the passing attack of the Hoosiers. The Wolverines offense still looked really good in the win though. They face off against Sparty and Michigan State. Denard Robinson vs. Greg Jones.
Projected Record: 8-4

19. South Carolina (3-1) The Gamecocks had a bye week last week after losing to Auburn a few weeks ago. South Carolina hosts College Gameday this Saturday as they take the Crimson Tide. Going to be a really tough one for the Cocks this week. Not sure they will have much success. Lattimore vs. the Tide.
Projected Record: 7-5

20. Wisconsin (4-1) The Badgers fell to the Spartans last week in a tough loss in East Lansing. The Badgers were one of my picks to beat Ohio State which I still believe they will do. Wisconsin was exposed on the run though, which will hurt them the rest of the season. The Badgers face the Golden Gophers this Saturday who came up short against Northwestern last week. The Badgers should get back on track Saturday.
Projected Record: 10-2

21. Nevada (5-0) The Wildcats don't have a shot at the National Title, but they have a legit chance for a perfect record if they can upset Boise State later on in the year. The Wildcats tore up the UNLV Rebels last week. They play San Jose State this weekend. They lost to UC Davis this past week, which proves they are not good at all. Big win for the Wildcats.
Projected Record: 11-1

22. Oklahoma State (4-0) The Cowboys are undefeated and they play Louisiana Lafayette this week which will make them 5-0. The Cowboys have a good chance to finish 2nd in the Big 12 South this year, and possibly beating Oklahoma and winning it. They are going to have to play some defense if they want to win it though.
Projected Record: 9-3

23. Florida State (4-1) Christian Ponder and the Seminoles still are the favorite in the ACC Atlantic division. Some people believe NC State was the real deal, but seriously? The Seminoles beat up on the Cavaliers by 20 points last week, but this week is a different story as they head to the South Beach. I think they take care of buisness this week.
Projected Record: 9-4

24. Missouri (4-0) The Tigers are the only team from the Big 12 North that has a chance to beat Nebraska in my opinion. Even though Kansas State is also undefeated, I don't think they are good enough to play with Nebraska for 4 quarters. They face a Colorado team that beat Georgia this past weekend, but I still don't think they are all that great. Missouri improves to 5-0.
Projected Record: 9-3

25. Air Force (4-1) The best military team this year is the Air Force Falcons. They have a really good chance to finish 2nd in the MWC if they can sneak past Utah or some how beat TCU. Air Force beat Navy this past weekend to prove they are the best military best team, and play Colorado State this week. They will have no problem getting past them. Air Force improves to 5-1.

NFL Picks Week 4

On my predictions I was back at 9-7 like the first week of action. This NFL season is shocking. My total for the whole year is 29-19 which is 65.5%. A little over .500 which isn't that good, but it isn't that bad. Well time for Week 4. Bye weeks are coming into play.

San Francisco 49ers (0-3) vs. Atlanta Falcons (2-1). The 49ers are a really good team, but have been unable to find a way to win. Frank Gore was shutdown in Week 3 agaisnt the Seahawks and Alex Smith couldn't get anything working in the air. The Falcons on the other hand controlled the whole game against the Saints, pounding New Orleans on the run with occasionally passing it to Tony G. I believe the Falcons will stick to the running and short passing game which the 49ers will have a tough time to stop in Atlanta. Falcons

New York Jets (2-1) vs. Buffalo Bills (0-3). The New York Jets defeated the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 on Sunday night. The defense was exposed with the loss of Revis as Brandon Marshall dominated Antonio Cromartie. The offense on the other hand was pretty good. LT and Shonn Greene were pretty good, and Mark Sanchez continually found Dustin Keller for a couple of TDs. The Bills played the New England Patriots and had their best offensive game so far. Fitzpatrick looks like the Bills QB for the year as they released Trent Edwards. Marshawn Lynch had 33 carries and over 150 yards, and C.J Spiller had his best game so far. The Jets will make the Bills run game look pathetic, and the passing game will not be enough to outscore the Jets. Jets

Cincinnati Bengals (2-1) vs. Cleveland Browns (0-3). The Bengals dominated the Panthers in Week 3 with the running game and an off and on passing attack. Also the Bengals didn't have to worry about the other team's offense well because the Panthers don't have one. The Cleveland Browns almost pulled off an upset against the Baltimore Ravens with a POWER running game, Peyton Hillis. The Bengals were able to shut down Williams and Stewart in Week 3, they will have no trouble stopping Hillis in this one. Bengals

Detroit Lions (0-3) vs. Green Bay Packers (2-1). The Lions were unable to come out with a win in Week 3 again against the Minnesota Vikings. Jahvid Best went out and the offense fell into pieces. The Vikings D completely shut down the Lions in Week 3. The Green Bay Packers fell short to a Chicago Bears team that is now 3-0. The Bears defense contained Aaron Rodgers for the most part, as Julius Peppers was showing off on national TV. The Packers lack in the running department right now with Brandon Jackson and Kuhn. The Packers will keep the Lions winless for four weeks in a row. Packers

Denver Broncos (1-2) vs. Tennessee Titans (2-1). The Broncos were unable to beat the Colts in Week 3. Kyle Orton almost threw for 500 yards, while the running game was not that great. The Titans defeated the New York Giants, and Chris Johnson went off against the Giants defense. Moreno is questionable for this matchup so Maroney will have the start. The Titans will able to keep their running game strong against the Broncos as Chris Johnson scores at least once. Titans

Seattle Seahawks (2-1) vs. St. Louis Rams (1-2). The Seattle Seahawks had to rely on Leon Washington to save them from a 1-2 start. Washington was more than impressive on special teams against the Chargers. The Rams were able to stun the Redskins in Week 3. Bradford was able to find deep TDs and Stephen Jackson had one for himself. The Seahawks will be able to stop Jackson if he plays, and the Rams offense won't be able to do much. Seahawks

Carolina Panthers (0-3) vs. New Orleans Saints (2-1). The Panthers have yet to find a way to win a ball game. The passing game is in a wreck, and the running game seems a little off. The defense has been good at forcing turnovers, but not good enough to win games. The New Orleans Saints had their first lost in a LONG time last week when they faced the Falcons. Brees threw two picks and Hartley blew it in the end. New Orleans should have no problem against this NFC South foe. Saints

Baltimore Ravens (2-1) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0). Baltimore have been not looking that great since their Week 1 win against the Jets. They lost to the Bengals in Week 2, and kept it REALLY close with the Browns last week. They are going to have to step it up in Week 4. Pittsburgh has been looking really good despite the loss of Big Ben. The defense is the key, it has been one of the best in the NFL if not THE best. I think the Steelers will run into a speed bump this week against the Ravens. When games are in need of a defensive battle, the Ravens are the team. AKA Ravens vs. Jets. Ravens

Houston Texans (2-1) vs. Oakland Raiders (1-2). The Texans didn't perform like they have the first two weeks last week. The Cowboys were able to score on the Texans left and right and over the top. Arian Foster did really good, but Schaub didn't do all that hot. The Raiders who I picked last week to upset the Cardinals came up really short. Well in better words, really left, as the kicker was unable to split the uprights. Texans get things going with Foster and the passing game. Texans

Indianapolis Colts (2-1) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2). The Colts are 2-0 since the Week 1 loss to the Texans, and the passing game couldn't look any better. Austin Collie is the #1 WR in the NFL. Enough said. The Jaguars are exactly the opposite of the Colts. The Jags are 0-2 since their Week 1 win to the Broncos. The passing game and running game isn't looking that effective and it won't be this week either. Colts

Washington Redskins (1-2) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (2-1). The most anticipated match-up of the week. McNabb goes back to Philly to face off against the "new" QB Michael Vick. The Redskins lost to the Rams last week, which is always a disappointment. They have been going down ever since their win against the Cowboys. The Eagles are 2-0 since falling to the Packers ine Week 1. The Eagles should have no problem handling Washington on Sunday. Eagles

Arizona Cardinals (2-1) vs. San Diego Chargers (1-2). The Cardinals only two wins so far this year are against the Rams and the Raiders. The loss that the Cardinals have was to the Falcons by a score of 41-7. Arizona barely escaped Oakland last week. The Chargers have lost two games this year. One to the 3-0 Chiefs and to the Seattle Seahawks who had the help of Leon Washington to overcome the Chargers. The Chargers should run by the Cardinals in Week 4. Chargers

Chicago Bears (3-0) vs. New York Giants (1-2). The Bears are 3-0. Never would have guessed that the Bears would get passed the Packers last week. The defense looked really good, and Cutler had a huge game. The Giants have been struggling in their last two games, and both of those have resulted in a loss. The Giants will have a tough time getting things back on track this week at home. Bears

New England Patriots (2-1) vs. Miami Dolphins (2-1). The Patriots squecked out a win last week against Buffalo in which the passing offense looked really good, and the running game. The Dolphins got done battling the Jets in a tough Sunday night matchup. The Dolphins offense exposed the secondary without Revis out there. The Dolphins are going to have a tough time stopping Brady and the passing game. Patriots

NCAA Week 4 Review and Season Projections

Well usually I come out with the most disappointing team, most impressive, best team, worst team, best conference, worst conference, and Heisman contenders. I won't explain them that much, but I will list who I thought fit those categories this pass week. I'll do five for each category except for the conferences.

Best Team:
1. Alabama- The way they handled Arkansas in 2nd half showed they are the favorites.
2. Oregon- Didn't perform like they have been, but scored over 40 once again.
3. Boise State- Trick play never seem to fail for the Broncos, and you can never stop them.
4. Ohio State- Pryor had one of his best games in a Buckeye uniform.
5. Wisconsin- Blew out their opponent and look like they will compete with OSU.

Most Impressive
1. North Carolina State- I never would have thought that the Wolfpack would start the season off 4-0.
2. Michigan- No Denard Robinson? Michigan still scored over 40 points without him, and they are 4-0.
3. Toledo- Toledo went into Purdue territory this weekend and came out with a W against an average Big 10 team.
4. Miami(FL)- Pittsburgh has been struggling, but Miami blew them out despite contant interceptions by Harris.
5. Northwestern- No one has been talking about the wildcats this year, but they are undefeated too. Just like Michigan State.

Worst Team
1. New Mexico State (0-3)- The Aggies are 114th in both scoring offense and points against.
2. Western Kentucky (0-4)- 104th in scoring offence and 117th in points against. No luck for the Div.1 A newcomers.
3. New Mexico (0-4)- Possibly the worst team in college football with a rank of 119th in scoring offense and 120th in points against. The Lobos can't do anything.
4. Eastern Michigan (0-4)- Eastern Michigan is under the 100th mark in scoring offense so thats good, but they are second to last in defense.
5. Akron (0-4)- Another MAC team that looks like nothing this year.

Least Impressive
1. Texas- Losing to UCLA is not supposed to happen if you are Texas, even if you are in a down year.
2. Oklahoma- The Sooners are having the streched where they play really good then really bad. Not sure what to say.
3. Georgia- 0-3 in the SEC, the Bulldogs are not helping AJ Green's head right now losing all of these games.
4. Georgia Tech- Even without Dwyer the Yellow Jackets were supposed to be pretty good still, but loses to Kansas, and NC State diminish that a little.
5. Southern Cal- They are Southern Cal this year because South Carolina is better this year. The USC this year is doing alright, but Southern Cal is looking bad even though they are undefeated.

Most Impressive Conference
SEC West- Alabama and Arkansas both proved that they have really good clubs as they faced off against each other. Auburn took care of USC at home. LSU handeled West Virginia. Mississippi State beat down Georgia, and Ole Miss finially got a win against a pretty good Fresno State team.

Least Impressive Conference
SEC East- Going with the other side of the conference now. No they are not the worst conference, but they were one of the least impressive in Week 4. Instead of putting a conference with no relevance I put someting people will actually look at. Florida has been struggling, but they smothered Kentucky. Either Florida is back or Kentucky is really bad. South Carolina and Georgia were unable to come up with wins against the other side. Tennessee almost lost it, and maybe should have against UAB. Vanderbilt didn't do bad, of course they didn't play.

NFL Week 3 Review

Upsets, Upsets, and Even More Upsets are occuring this season in the NFL. Good news for the Cowboys and Vikings though, you finially got a win. One of the most disappointing things this season is the start that the 49ers and the Lions are having. Both teams are very good, but both of them are winless.

Falcons (2-1) 27/Saints (2-1) 24: One of the most anticipated matchups of the week did not disappoint at all. The Falcons defense was able to pick off Brees twice and they controlled the clock the whole game. The Falcons are looking impressive this year and only have one loss in OT to the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. The Saints still look explosive as they had a chance to win the game in OT, but Hartlet SKANKED it to the left.

Chiefs (3-0) 31/49ers (0-3) 10: The Kansas City Chiefs are one of three teams that are still undefeated. The running game looks impressive for the Chiefs and the passing game is off and on with Matt Cassell. The 49ers couldn't get anything going against Kansas City sunday. The running game wasn't in sync, and the passing game disappointing once again. I expected a little bit more from the San Francisco defense, but once again disappointment. The 49ers need to get things going if they want any success this year.

Vikings (1-2) 24/Lions (0-3) 10: The Lions offense went out during the game because of an groin injury. Jahvid Best has been keeping the Lions in the first two ball games. Minnesota's defense was impressive was agains, and Adrian Peterson went OFF on Detroit. I think it is safe to say that Adrian Peterson is the best RB in football. The kid is crazy good. Not just strong, but really quick. It looks like Minnesota is getting back on track.

Patriots (2-1) 38/Bills (0-3) 30: The Patriots defense was horrid against the 0-3 Bills, but the offense was potent enough to score 38 points on Buffalo. C.J Spiller had his best game this year, and Fitzpatrick looked like he studied enough at Harvard to do decently well against the Pats. Benjarvis Green-Ellis did really good against Buffalo which I'm not sure that it will happen again.

Titan (2-1) 29/Giants (1-2) 10: The Giants have been struggling the pass two weeks. When you are forced to throw left handed inside the 10 yard line, you have some problems. I mean who does Eli think he is? Peyton? Eli just needs to throw it to Hakeem Nicks like he did in Week 1 when they won. Chris Johnson and the Titans are now 2-1 with their only loss to the Steelers. Sound familiar?

Steelers (3-0) 38/Buccaneers (2-1) 13: The Steelers defense continues to impress. Medenhall looked really good against Tampa Bay who shut down Panthers one week before. Josh Freeman and the Bucs struggled against one of the top defenses in football. Charlie Batch filled in really well for the injured Dennis Dixon. The Benless Steelers, are undefeated and have a good chance of staying undefeated before Ben comes back.

Bengals (2-1) 20/Panthers (0-3) 7: The Bengals are another team that has looked impressive after their loss to New England. The offense hasn't been that impressive, but the defense is coming up big against their last two opponents. The Panthers on the other hand are looking like one of the WORST teams in professional football. The way their offense is right now, their defense needs to step it up for the Panthers.

Ravens (2-1) 24/ Browns (0-3) 17: The Ravens defense strugged against the Browns. Surprisingly the Browns almost pulled this one out, which would have stunned the Ravens. Joe Flacco was able to keep the Ravens in this one with THREE TD passes to Anquan Boldin. If the Ravens can get the passing game to working, they will be VERY dangerous.

Cowboys (1-2) 27/Texans (2-1) 13: The Cowboys finially got their first win of the season. I did not see this one coming at all though. The Texans have been really impressive the first to weeks and hit a speed bumb in Week 3 to the Cowboys. Texans only had 1 passing touchdown, and Arian Foster was unable to punch it in the endzone. I'm sure this was a little slip from the Texans.

Rams (1-2) 30/Redskins (1-2) 16: Well I thought the Rams were the worst team in football, but they surprised the NFL in Week 3 by scoring 30 points. Bradford looked pretty good for a rookie quarterback and Stephen Jackson opened the game with a HUGE TD run to get the Rams started. After beating the Cowboys, the Redskins are starting to slip up, and not before as well (See score above). I still don't think the Rams are anything to be afraid about.

Eagles (2-1) 28/Jaguars (1-2) 3: Michael Vick continues to impress. He has never thrown like this ever. He absolutely has his head on track and he just locked up the starting spot in Philadelphia. The good thing about the Eagles QB situation is that they have really good trading value with Kevin Kolb. The Jaguars beat Denver in week one, but have lost two straight. The running game isn't anything and the passing game has not worked as effective as it did in Week 1. The Eagles are the team to beat in the NFC East.

Colts (2-1) 27/Broncos (1-2) 13: The Colts passing game is looking good as it has always been. Austin Collie is the #1 WR right now in the league. That is how good the Colts passing game is working. Orton almost passed for 500 yards against the Colts, but only found the endzone 1 time. The Colts and Texans are going to have to battle it out for the AFC South, in which the Colts will win.

Cardinals (2-1) 24/Raiders (1-2) 23: My other upset pick besides the Falcons over the Saints, was this one. Raiders would had this one if they were able to sink the kick as time expired. Gradkowski looked like he is the Raiders QB right now, and Darren Mcfadden continues to impress. Mcfadden is finially the guy who the Raiders drafted a couple years ago. Derek Anderson had an alright game for the Cardinals throwing two TD's. One to Breaston and one to Fitzgerald.

Seahawks (2-1) 27/Chargers (1-2) 20: The Seahawks continue to find ways to win in big games. This week was Leon Washington. He had TWO kick return TDs against San Diego. Fantasy wise- only 12 points. If it wasn't for lighting himself the score might have been 20-13 Chargers. The Chargers without Ryan Matthews look alright, but there was a noticable difference in the running game. Antonio Gates had another BIG game as he went over 100 yards and had one TD.

Jets (2-1) 31/Dolphins (2-1) 23: The Dolphins hung tough with the Jets throughout the game Sunday night. They were able to make the Revisless Jets look vunerable in the passing game which they are. The Jets offense looked impressive for the second week in a row as they demolished the Dolphins for 31 points. If the Jets can get Revis to come back healthy and the offense to continue to perform, they are one HARD team to beat.

Bears (3-0) 20/Packers (2-1) 17: The last team that is undefeated in the NFL is the Chicago Bear. We'll I have to go eat so I'm just going to say, I don't know how?

Week 5 Predictions

I have to make my predictions early because I'm not sure when i'll find the time to do them again, and I don't have much to do since my Xbox blew up... Last week I improved about 5% to 76% from a season low in Week 3. I still have been pretty good regarding the main games this year. Alabama, Boise, Auburn, and LSU were all right last week. This week has a lot of matchups that will test my big game knowledge again.

Not that many shake-ups in the Top 25 this week, but two new newcomers should spice it up a little bit.

Top 25

1. Alabama (4-0) I always knew Alabama was the real deal after they won the National Title last year, but was very surprised with Arkansas in the first half last saturday. Arkansas came out swinging, but when Alabama started running their power running game and their defense sufficated Mallett, the game was over. Alabama has a tough strech of game, but I think they will be able to survive it all.
Projected Record: 13-0

2. Ohio State (4-0) Eastern Michigan isn't that much of a contest for the Buckeye. Pryor had a field day against Eastern Michigan, and the Buckeyes scored 73 points. Ohio State has their first conference game this year against Illinois, which shouldn't trouble the Buckeyes at all.
Projected Record: 11-1

3. Boise State (3-0) The Broncos had to hold a fiesty Oregon State team off last saturday night. Kellen Moore look like he still has his All-American talent working, and the Boise State awesome was on it's game. The only game they will have to worry about on their schedule now is Nevada. They play New Mexico State next week which means Kellen Moore will have a BIG game.
Projected Record: 12-0

4. Oregon (4-0) It was eventually going to happen. Because Oregon plays tougher competition than TCU, the Ducks passed the Horned Frogs in the polls. They will eventually pass Boise State also if they go undefeated. Oregon played Arizona State and was tested throughout the game. The Ducks offense still scored 42, but their defense struggled against the Sun Devils' Air Raid offense. The Ducks play a tough Stanford team in Eugene.
Projected Record: 12-0

5. TCU (4-0) The Horned Frogs went down in the polls despite the win. They played SMU last friday and gave up 24 points to really potent offense. They need to play exceptionally well agaisnt their ranked opponents this season if they want to overtake any more spots this year. They face a Coloroda State team that got their first win of the year last week against Idaho. Horned Frogs won't have any trouble with CSU.
Projected Record: 12-0

6. Nebraska (4-0) The Cornhuskers played South Dakota State last saturday and only put up 17 points. A really disappointing week for Nebraska and they are lucky they didn't fall down in the rankings. I still think they are one of the best teams in the Big 12. Second best. Nebraska has four tough opponents left on their schedule and should get past all of them. They have a bye week this week.
Projected Record: 12-1

7. Florida (4-0) After struggling the first couple weeks of the season, the Gators seem to have things going again. They are lucky they didn't schedule anybody good for a while. This week they play somebody good. #1 team in the country good. The Gators travel to Alabama this saturday hoping to upset the Tide. Unless their D-line and LB's are up to stop Ingram and Richardson, they will have no luck.
Projected Record: 11-2

8. Oklahoma (4-0) The Sooners had to hold off a struggling Cincinnati Bearcat team last saturday. Oklahoma has been struggling in little games this year, but has played exceptionally well against ranked competition. The Sooners face the Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry, and will look to bounce Texas out of the Top 25. I think Oklahoma will slip up against one team this year, and lose a regular season game, but it is not to Texas.
Projected Record: 12-1

9. Stanford (4-0) The Cardinals has had pretty good competition the whole year and have been coming up big. They played the Irish last saturday and tore Notre Dame apart 37-14. They jumped up 7 spots in the rankings with a win against a below .500 Irish team....They will fall back down after this week after they go into Eugene, Oregon to face the highly powered Ducks.
Projected Record: 10-2

10. Auburn (4-0) The Tigers showed that they have one of the best QB's in the SEC this year. I rank Cam Newton #2 in the SEC behind Arkansas' pro QB. He was more than impressive against South Carolina delivering the ball for short passes, and using his legs to pick up key first downs and touchdowns. The Tigers play Louisiana Monroe this week and well go 5-0. They will have a real good chance to finish 2nd in the SEC West.
Projected Record: 10-2

11. Wisconsin (4-0) The Badgers played a BAD Austin Peay team last week and put up 70 points against them with half of those points coming in the 2nd quarter. The Badgers face their first stiff competition this week as they go into East Lansing to face the Greg Jones and the Spartans. The Badgers will look to their running attack to get past Michigan State in their first conference matchup.
Projected Record: 11-1

12. LSU (4-0) LSU jumped up 3 spots in the AP poll this week after defeated a ranked West Virginia team by 6. The Tigers got up on the Mountaineers early as they had a 17 points lead to start off the game. Patrick Peterson proved he is the most explosive returner in college football once again. The Tigers have many tough games left on their schedule including Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, and South Carolina. They face Tennessee this week in the Tigers third conference game this year.
Projected Record: 9-3

13. Utah (4-0) Utah stayed at #13 in the poll after defeating San Jose State 56-3. Utah has a bye week this week, but they still have to Air Force, TCU, and Notre Dame this year. The Utes have looked impressive this year, and made me question what I thought they were going to go this season.
Projected Record: 10-2

14. Arizona (4-0) Arizona also stayed at the same spot in the polls this week after escaping California. That was my BIG upset pick last week and almost had it right, but the Wildcats came up big in the end and were able to beat the Golden Bears. The Wildcats have a bye week along with Utah this week before facing Oregon State.
Projected Record: 9-3

15. Arkansas (3-1) The Razorbacks played really tough against the Tide last week, but fell short to the best team in college football. Ryan Mallett looked like the best QB prospect in a couple of years in the first half, but then showed that he is sometimes very inconsistent. The Razorbacks also have a bye week before facing Texas A&M.
Projected Record: 10-2

16. Miami(FL) (3-1) The Hurricanes dominated Pittsburgh in the Thursday night matchup last week. Jacoby Harris still looks inconsistent in every game that he plays in. Eventually it will catch up to Miami and will hurt their chances to win the ACC. The Hurricanes play a dangerous Clemson team this week that almost defeated Auburn two weeks ago.
Projected Record: 9-3

17. Iowa (3-1) The Hawkeyes shutout Ball State last week after losing to Arizona one week before. The Hawkeyes have a tough matchup this week as they face Penn State. Iowa is till one of the top teams in the Big 10 and need a win this week to get their engine running again.
Projected Record: 9-3

18. USC (4-0) The had their first good win of the season last saturday by dominating Washington State. That helped the Trojans from falling down once again in the polls. The offense is starting to get a real hold of things for Lane Kiffin's offense. USC plays Jake Locker and a struggling Huskies team this week.
Projected Record: 8-4

19. South Carolina (3-1) South Carolina played really tough against Auburn, but were unable to find any consistent QB play. Garcia played really well in the first half, but gave up two KEY fumbles that changed the game around. Connor Shaw stepped in for the offense in the 4th quarter, but threw two picks including one in triple coverage. The Gamecocks have a bye week this week, before playing the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
Projected Record: 8-4

20. Michigan (4-0) Even though Denard Robinson went out quickly in the game against Bowling Green, the offense was still fantastic against their MAC opponent. Michigan face Indiana in their first conference matchup. Shoelace should have no problem scoring on the Hoosiers who will be fighting Minnesota for the worst team spot.
Projected Record: 8-4

21. Texas (3-1) Texas was demolished by UCLA's Run? game. Yes I meant to put the question mark. I didn't know the Bruins had a running game. The Longhorns were exposed last week and Mack Brown apologized for it. He is going to have to apologize a lot more this year if the Longhorns are going to play like that. They play Oklahoma this week and then Nebraska.
Projected Record: 8-4

22. Penn State (3-1) The Nittany Lions have a chance they are one of the top teams in the Big 10 this year as they face Iowa. If they were to upset the Hawkeyes, they will be looked to challenge Ohio State for the title. The only loss on the Lions' schedule is to the Tide. Lets see how they do against a tough Iowa team.
Projected Record: 9-3

23. North Carolina State (4-0) Three new teams in the Top 25 this week and both of them are the wolfpack. NC State can be described as a one man wolfpack with Russell Wilson leading the show. The Wolfpack host the Hokies from Virginia Tech who are trying to get things back on track after struggling in the beginning of the season.
Projected Record: 8-4

24. Michigan State (4-0) The Spartans defeated Northern Colorado last week, and look to pull off a huge upset that will shake up the Big 10 agaisnt Wisconsin. The Spartans need a this win to jump start their season. They are going to have to keep the game more defensive if they want to win this game.
Projected Record: 8-4

25. Nevada (4-0) The other new wolfpack in the Top 25 is Nevada. Boise State's next toughest competition that has a good chance of going undefeated if they pull off the upset further down the road. The Wolfpack beat defeated BYU last week by 14. They have to face the same competition Boise faces this year.

I knew that Week 3 was going to be bad starting with the beginning of the week when I lost three straight games. I got back on track a little bit, but not enough to match my last two week performances. In Week 3 I went 45-13 with picks which gives that a 71.2% winning rate. Lets see if I can get it back up to 80% this week.

NFL Week 2 Review

Well, it is the middle of the week, and now is the time that I start thinking about the NFL. Two weeks down in the NFL season, and this season is really surprising. Who would have thought that the Minnesota Vikings would be 0-2 or the NFC West favorite 49ers? Many people had BIG games this week, that surprised many people. Jason Snelling, and Jahvid Best. Alright lets start with the review.

Falcons(1-1) 47/ Cardinals(1-1) 7: The Falcons dominated the Cardinals from the start leading 24-7 at the half. Many people were praising Jason Snelling after the game, but the game was already over folks. His performance wasn't THAT great. Matt Ryan bounced back after a tough Week 1 performance against the Steelers. On the other hand the Cardinals actually played some competition this year and got destroyed.

Bengals(1-1) 15/ Ravens(1-1) 10: After dominating the Jets in Week 1, the Ravens let off a little bit and the Bengals took advantage of it. No one had a big game for either offense, but the Bengals defense had the best game. They forced 4 turnovers against the Ravens, and didn't allow them to have the ball for that long as the Bengals won the TOP also. The Bengals stated their case for the AFC North crown, but if Baltimore would have not commited silly turnovers, this one would be in Baltimore's favor.

Chiefs(2-0) 16/ Browns(0-2) 14: I did not watch any of this game, but was really interested while following it on gametacker on ESPN. The Browns are not a good team at all, and hung with the Chiefs the whole game. Seneca Wallace played really well as he filled in the whole at starting QB, and Thomas Jones for the Chiefs proved that he should be splitting carries with Jamaal Charles even more. The Chiefs need to play a lot better than what they did Sunday if they want to win the AFC West.

Bears(2-0) 27/ Cowboys(0-2) 20: "America's favorite" team is 0-2. How disappointing...Anyways. Jay Cutler looks really impressive this year as he has led the Chicago Bears to a 2-0 start. The Bears didn't run the ball that much against the Cowboys. The best play in the game was when Marion Barber TRIED to block Julius Peppers, but that didn't turn out too well as Peppers bulldozed over him. The Cowboys have what it needs to win, but they don't come out with the W. We'll see in Week 3.

Eagles(1-1) 35/ Lions(0-2) 32: Another week for two things to happen. 1. Michael Vick proves he is a better QB than he has ever been and 2. Lions prove they have a decent team this year and can compete with a lot of teams. Michael Vick passed the ball better than he ever had and LeSean McCoy BLEW it up with a 3 TD performance. Best also did exceptionally well as he kept the Lions in it the whole game. Don't count out the Lions this year.

Packers(2-0) 34/ Bills(0-2) 7: Again CJ Spiller got dominated and even though the Bills were down that whole game, they still failed to pass it to their best WR. Many problems for the Bills this year, and it doesn't help that they play in one of the best divisions in football. Aaron Rodgers played decent, but still not to the ability I thought he was going too this season. Best thing for the Packers right now is the Vikings are 0-2.

Steelers(2-0) 19/ Titans(1-1) 11: Defense, Defense, Defense. The Steelers forced 7 turnovers against Chris Johnson and the Titans. 7. The Steelers didn't have much offense as Dennis Dixon went down early, and they couldn't establish a good running game against the Titans. Pittsburgh had NOTHING to worry about though as the defense was stopping EVERYTHING.

Dolphins(2-0) 14/ Vikings(0-2) 10: There isn't many positives I can talk about right now about the Vikings except their defense is still playing up to a good level. Brett Favre is DONE. The Vikings offense is one-dimensional. AND they are not going to win the NFC North this year. The Dolphins start out the season with a 2-0 record, and are currently in the lead in the AFC East. The running attack for the Dolphins hasn't hit it's peak this year so i'm not sure how long that lead is staying.

Buccaneers(2-0) 20/ Panthers(0-2) 7: The haven't played that stiff of competition so far this year. Week 1 they played the 0-2 Browns, and last week they finished things off against the 0-2 Panthers. It looks like their passing game has starting to take its leaps, but it looks like the running game is not up to the level it has been in previous years. The Panthers need to get on track. The running game is not holding up to the lack of passing attack the Panthers have with Moore (Now Clausen).

Broncos(1-1) 31/ Seahawks(1-1) 14: The Broncos's bounced back after a loss against the Jaguars with a win over the Seahawks. Kyle Orton had a really impressive day against the Seahawks defense. The most impressive thing about the game Sunday was the Broncos defense that forced 4 turnovers against Seattle and turned the whole game around. The true Seahawks was on display against the Broncos.

Raiders(1-1) 16/ Rams(0-2) 14: Well the answer to the Raiders QB struggles is not Jason Campbell. Gradkowski had a better game than the former Redskins starter, and the offense seemed to take a turnaround. McFadden continues to shine this year in the Raiders offensive scheme. Bradford a successful start for the Rams, but that still wasn't enough for St. Louis. To sum it up, neither team is in contention for anything except the Rams. First Overall Pick.

Jets(1-1) 28/ Patriots(1-1) 14: If you would have told me that Sanchez would throw 3 touchdown passes? I would have probably said something smart like the Patriots were going to rush for 200 yards. The Jets defense was good against a very good offense. The key to the game was the Jets offense. Could they score on the Patiots? An they did so. They looked good running and passing the ball against New England and still look to be in control of the AFC East.

Chargers(1-1) 38/ Jaguars(1-1) 13: Phillip Rivers looked really good passing the ball over Jacksonville and the running attack didn't miss a step after Ryan Matthews went down. The most disappointing thing about the game was the Jaguars defense. After shutting the Broncos down in Week 1 they couldn't stop the Chargers attack. Another thing they couldn't stop was turning over the ball. Six turnovers for Jacksonville was pathetic and gave away the game.

Texans(2-0) 30/ Redskins(1-1) 27: Another impressive performance for the Washington Redskins. Even though nobody has predicted them to win the NFC East they look like they could surprise A LOT of people. The key play in the game besides Neil Rackers FG in overtime was the TD pass to Andre Johnson. That guy is a FREAK. Best WR in the NFL. The Texans are making very strong cases to make the playoffs this year.

Colts(1-1) 38/ Giants(1-1) 14: The Texans surprised the Colts in Week 1 with the running attack and the Colts used that against the Giants in Week 2. The Colts controlled the running game and the passing game. Addai and Brown both had good game, and Peyton Manning still proved that he is the NFL's best QB (Sorry Brees). The Colts are still my favorite for the AFC South.

Saints(2-0) 25/ 49ers(0-2) 22: The 49ers showed that they are a really talented team Monday night against the defending champs. The Saints still looked really good and in the hunt for another NFL Title. I was impressed that San Francisco got back on track with the talent they have on their team. The 49ers will win the NFC West.

Top 25 Week 4

Three weeks have passed already in this college football season and there has been many shake-ups in the rankings. On the other hand there are still the teams everyone thought was going to be there til the very end. Teams that are in the Top 25 now, will not be there at the end. All we can do is watch and see how this season turns out. Here is my Week 4 Top 25 analysis.

Top 25

1. Alabama (3-0) Mark Ingram came back this week and dominated the Duke Blue Devils after Trent Richardson was filling in the starting spot tremendously. They weren't really tested at all last week, but that might be another story this week. They face Arkansas, which will most likely be the game of the week. Alabama must flex their muscles against the Razorbacks to come out with a win.
Projected Record: 13-0

2. Ohio State (3-0) Ohio State wasn't really tested in their in-state contest against Ohio. They dominated the first half of action last saturday and didn't let up a bit. OSU has another cakewalk this week as they play a Eastern Michigan team that is not really good at all. Big stats for Pryor and the Buckeyes.
Projected Record: 11-1

3. Boise State (2-0) After a bye week in Week 2, the Broncos faced Wyoming and didn't have any trouble. Boise State is still my pick to go into the national title game, but who knows because TCU and Oregon are looking really good. Boise State plays a ranked Oregon State team this week that will test the Broncos ranking after Virginia Tech has been struggling.
Projected Record: 12-0

4. TCU (3-0) TCU wasn't tested by Robert Griffin in Week 3, as the Horned Frogs controlled the whole game against Baylor. This week will give TCU more of a test than Baylor as they go to a Southern Methodist team that just beat Washington State in Week 3. SMU's offense can score and TCU's defense is going to have to step it up to the performance it did in Week 1 against Oregon State.
Projected Record: 12-0

5. Oregon (3-0) Portland State isn't that much competition, but the Ducks didn't even score in the 4th quarter and the game was 69-0. If your looking for the best offense in college football, you need to look in Eugene, Oregon. The Duck's offense is the best in the nation, and doesn't look like they are going to slow up at all. They face an Arizona State team that is 2-1 in Week 4.
Projected Record: 12-0

6. Nebraska (3-0) Nebraska dominated Jake Locker and the Washington Huskies in Week 3. They look better this year than last year with Suh. The offense is more explosive and the defense still gets after it. They are absolutely going to win the Big 12 North in their final season with the Big 12. They play South Dakota State in Week 4, which should be over at halftime. I like Nebraska even more after Week 3.
Projected Record: 12-1

7. Texas (3-0) The Longhorns played in a crucial Big 12 game against Texas Tech in Week 3, and came out with the win. I still think Texas has some rebuilding to do to get back to what they were last year. They will win again this week facing UCLA, but Oklahoma and Nebraska are going to be really tough for the Longhorns. Mack Brown still gets another 10 win season this year though.
Projected Record: 10-2

8. Oklahoma (3-0) Many people might look at this game and say that Oklahoma is still not as good as they were a few years ago, but I'm against those statements. Air Force is a pretty good team this year, and most likely surprised the Sooners in Week 3. Oklahoma still won the game too. I don't think the Sooners will go undefeated this year. I say Texas A&M or Oklahoma State will get the Sooners in one game this year.
Projected Record: 12-1

9. Florida (3-0) The Gators opened SEC play this year against the Vols. The Gators offense looks like it is getting back on track. The one thing that Florida has over everyone in the SEC is speed. I still think the Gators are the fastest team in the SEC, and will use that to their advantage. The Gators play another SEC team in Week 4 as they face off against Kentucky.
Projected Record: 10-3

10. Arkansas (3-0) After going to the wire against Georgia, the Razorbacks jumped up in the rankings to #10. The Georgia game was their first test of the year and they did alright. I still don't think they have what it takes to take down Alabama this saturday, but I think they'll do the best out of any team Bama has played this year. Lets see what the hogs are made off.
Projected Record: 8-4

11. Wisconsin (3-0) Wisconsin keeps their #11 position with a 1 point win over Arizona State last week. Both Wisconsin and Iowa did not impress me, and it'ls making me starting to believe that OSU might go undefeated. We REALLY need some kind of 16 or 8 team playoff. The Badgers play Austin Peay this saturday so they will go 4-0 to start out this year.
Projected Record: 11-1

12. South Carolina (3-0) The Gamecocks jump up 1 spot after their win against Furman. The Cocks didn't do anything really impressive against the Paladins, but if they did would it really matter since it was against a Div. 1 AA team. South Carolina goes on the road for the first time this year as they face Auburn in a SEC matchup. This game should test both teams this season.
Projected Record: 9-3

13. Utah (3-0) Utah played a struggling New Mexico team last week, and didn't let up one bit. They handled the Lobos all game to improve to 3-0. Utah plays another team that has been having problems this week as they play San Jose State. The only win SJSU has is a close win against Southern Utah. Utah cruises to 4-0.
Projected Record: 10-2

14. Arizona(3-0) The Wildcats jumped up 10 spots in the rankings after beating a Top 10 Iowa team. Arizona dominated the first half at home against the Hawkeyes and were able to stop their late rally near the end of the game. Arizona plays a Cal team that was spanked by Nevada last week. Zona doesn't need to overlook California because they are still a good team.
Projected Record: 9-3

15. LSU (3-0) The Tigers stay at #15 after controlling Mississippi State last week. The Bulldogs usually keep it close against EVERYONE they play, but LSU showed they are getting back on track and they have a pretty good team this year. LSU plays #22 West Virginia this week at home. LSU could make a close jump into the Top 10 if they are able to have a really good performance against the Mountaineers.
Projected Record: 10-2

16. Stanford (3-0) Stanford jumped up 3 spots this week after killing Wake Forest at home. Wake Forest isn't that good this year, so I don't know how they got 3 spots in a win against a bad team, but whatever. The Cardinals face Notre Dame in Week 4, and the Irish want to avenge their loss against Michigan State. Tough match up.
Projected Record: 10-2

17. Auburn (3-0) The Tigers lose one spot after beating a pretty good Clemson team. This is the second week in a row that Auburn has lost one spot after winning the game. If Auburn is able to beat South Carolina this week, I'm sure that they will not go down in the rankings. The Tigers face a really difficult road ahead.
Projected Record: 10-2

18. Iowa (2-1) The Hawkeyes slipped up against Arizona in Week 3, but don't count the Hawkeyes out of the Big 10 race. They are still a pretty good team that has a shot to take down OSU. Do I think they will? No, but it will be a pretty good game. They have a chance to get back on track this week by facing Ball State. That Iowa defense isn't as tough as they think they are.
Projected Record: 9-3

19. Miami(FL) (1-1) After a bye week in Week 3, the Hurricanes fell 1 spot in the ranks, but has a shot to jump up a little bit as they play Pittsburgh this Thursday. The only loss the Hurricanes have is against OSU. They have had two weeks to prepare for Dion Lewis and Pittsburgh. The Hurricanes still have some very tough games this year, but I think they'll get by this one.
Projected Record: 9-3

20. USC (3-0) The Trojans are really disappointing me this year. The only thing they have to play for is themselves and they are not representing like the 04-05 team did. They play a struggling Washington State team this week which will make them a non-deserving 4-0.
Projected Record: 8-4

21. Michigan (3-0) After an impressive first two weeks, the Wolverines struggled against a UMASS team. Denard Robinson had another good game, that boosts his heisman stats even more, but as a whole Michigan did not represent the Big House at all. They play Bowling Green this week that will most likely make them 4-0 before they go into Big 10 play.
Projected Record: 8-4

22. West Virginia (3-0) The Mountaineers have been struggling the past two weeks against Marshall and Maryland. LSU is WAY better than Marshall or Maryland. West Virginia is going to have a TOUGH time against the Tigers in Louisiana Saturday.
Projected Record: 10-2

23. Penn State (2-1) Penn State rebounded after losing to Alabama in Week 2 by shutting out Kent State 24-0. They face a team that is very dangerous and have what it takes to upset the Lions in Week 4, Temple Owls. They beat Connecticut last week and are hungry for another win.
Projected Record: 9-3

24. Oregon State (1-1) The Beavers got their first win of the season last week against Louisville, but in an not impressive fashion. After competing against TCU in Week 1, the Beavers did not come out with that same intensity. They need to come out with that same intensity and more like they did in Week 1 this week, as they face Boise State.
Projected Record: 7-5

25. Michigan State (3-0) The Spartans overtime win against the Irish got a lot of attention this week, and gave them a chance to be in the Top 25. Led by their defensive star Greg Jones, the Spartans want to make a run in the Big 10. They will be able to start off the season 4-0 after they play Northern Colorado this week.
Projected Record: 8-4

College Football Week 3 Review

This week in college football brought many surprises to my eyes, including teams that are better than I expected and teams that I am too HIGH on. I am beginning to see the teams that are going to emerge to the top of the rankings and teams that are going to stay there the rest of the year.

Best Team
Nevada: I thought the game between Nevada and California was going to be close with California coming out on top, but the Wolfpack ran ALL over the Bears. I knew Nevada had an explosive running attack, but too demolish Cal's defense like they did was REALLY impressive. Everyone is going to have to play to their VERY best when they face off against the Wolfpack this year.

Most Impressive
Nebraska or NC State: I was wondering about Nebraska the whole year. I couldn't decide if they were up to the same level they were last year with Suh, but now I know they are. They have one of the top defenses in the country, and an offense that is more explosive than last year. NC State on the other hand is surprising me a lot. I would have never thought they would have beat Cincinnati at the beginning of the season. The Wolfpack are now 3-0 and are about to go into conference play where they hope they can have the same success they have had.

Worst Team
Mississippi: Well the ol' Ole Miss Rebels are not good at all this year. I picked Vanderbilt last week based on the Rebels first two performances and I was exactly right. The Rebels have lots of problems that not even Masoli can fix. Lost to Jacksonville St. in Week 1, kept it close against Tulane in Week 2, then losing to Vanderbilt by 14 in their opening SEC game. The only thing he Rebels might be in contention this year is the worst team in the SEC.

Least Impressive
Iowa: I had Iowa as a potential 10 win team last week and I had them winning 11 at the beginning of the year. It seems that win mark is getting less and less as the season progresses. The Hawkeyes went on the road and lost to a Arizona Wildcat team that I thought wasn't that good this year. Maybe the Wildcats are for real? I don't know yet, but one team I know isn't for real is the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Most Impressive Conference
C-USA: The most impressive conference in Week 3 was the C-USA. They had a few teams lose games this week, they had some very impressive wins. After losing to South Carolina in Week 1, Southern Miss beat the Jayhawks of Kansas at home in Week 3. SMU also had another impressive win at home when they beat Washington State 35-21. They also were perfect agaisnt two Sun Belt team this week. UAB over Troy and Memphis over Mid Tenn State. The only real disappointing thing for C-USA this week was the loss of Case Keenum for Houston. The Cougars offensive star is gone for the season with an injury against UCLA.

Least Impressive Conference
Big East: West Virginia was almost upset by Maryland in Week 3, and two Big East were upset. Cincinnati was beat by NC State on Thursday night, and the Huskies were disappointing AGAIN after losing to Temple. The most impressive team in the Big East in Week 3 was Louisville as they challenged Oregon State the whole game in Week 3 and falling short by 7.

Week 2 Overview

Well Week 1 in the NFL surprised me a lot and taught a whole lot about how this season is going to be like. One thing I've learned is that this season is going to be way more competitive. Your still gonna have game where the obvious favorite wins by a whole bunch in some cases, but your also going to have games that will come down to the wire every single week. Last week I did not have a good record at picking NFL game, but lets see if I can turn things around this week.

Cardinals (1-0) at Falcons (0-1). The Falcons went into overtime against the Steelers and gave up a huge run to Medenhall for a TD. Other than that, the defense played really good, and the offense obviously had troubles against the Pitt D. The Cardinals did not play a very good opponent at all in Week 1 and I'm not sure they will be ready for a team like the Falcons. The Cardinals have alot of questions and they will not solve them in Week 2. Falcons.

Ravens (1-0) at Bengals (0-1). Both teams faced two very different opponents in Week 1. Baltimore played a more defensive oriented team, Jets, and the Bengals faced a very good offense, Patriots. The Ravens shut down any offense the Jets thought they had in Week 1, and the Bengals couldn't keep up with Brady and the Pats. Defense will decide this one and Baltimore has plenty of it. Ravens

Chiefs (1-0) at Browns (0-1). The Chiefs proved that they could compete for the AFC West title in Week 1 by beating San Diego, and the Browns proved that they will finish last in the AFC North. The running game of the Chiefs will be too much for the Browns to stop, and who knows Dwayne Bowe might even record a touchdown. Browns are just not good. Chiefs

Bears (1-0) at Cowboys (0-1). If it wasn't for Calvin Johnson's miscue in the endzone both teams would be winless after Week 1. Bears really didn't impress me too much as they heavily relied on Matt Forte. The Cowboys couldn't even beat the "worst" team in the NFC East, the Redskins. Based on talent on both teams, I will pick the Cowboys to win this one at home. They have to redeem themselves after that mockery. Cowboys

Eagles (0-1) at Lions (0-1). No Kolb, but they have Vick. Vick was really impressive against a Packers defense who many NFL analysts have in their Top 5 defenses. The Lions proved that they are not a 0-16 team, that they were a couple of years ago, so I think this game will be farely close. The Eagles will have TOO much to offer against the Lions though. Eagles

Bills (0-1) at Packers (1-0). The most explosive offensive player for the Bills didn't do anything for the Bills against the Dolphins, C.J Spiller. I think the Packers will look to shut the rookie down for another week, and maybe get Aaron Rodgers back into Pro-Bowl quality. Rodgers didn't impress me against the Eagles to make me say he still is the best QB in the league. Packers

Steelers (1-0) at Titans (1-0). Chris Johnson had another really good game to start off the season, but it was to the Raiders who can't stop much of anything (Scott). The Steelers had a tough time against the Falcons in Week 1, but were able to come out with a win. McFadden had a really good performance against the Titan defense in Week 1, so I expect the Steelers to push the run as hard as they can. Steelers

Dolphins (1-0) at Vikings (0-1). Vikings played really good defense against the Saints, and the Dolphins failed to establish that awesome running back combo they had last year against the Bills. Adrian Peterson will have a good game against Miami, and the Viking D will shut down the running dou once again. Vikings

Buccaneers (1-0) at Panthers (0-1). If it wasn't for Hakeem Nicks in Week 1 the Panthers would have dominated the Giants with their defense who forced a numerous amount of turnovers. The only weapon that sort of resembles Nicks is Mike Williams who Josh Freeman LOVES going to. I think the Panthers running game will get back on track in Week 2 because if Peyton Hillis can do that against the Bucs, so can Williams and Stewart. Panthers

Seahawks (1-0) at Broncos (0-1). The Broncos couldn't stop David Garrad and the Jaguars passing game in Week 1. The Seahawks somehow demolished the 49ers in Week 1, but I can not say that Pete has turned that team around that fast. I will not believe it. Broncos win this one. I have too. Broncos

Rams (0-1) at Raiders (0-1). The most intersting game of the week. Make sure you Tevo this one. Of course I'm kidding. The only thing worse than this game would be if it was the Rams and the Browns. I really have a feeling Jason Campbell is going to have a pretty good game against St. Louis and Raiders will be able to shut down any passing game the Rams have. This one is for you Scott. Raiders

Patriots (1-0) at Jets (0-1). The Jets defense look amazing against the Ravens except for all of the penalties they had. I heart says pick the Patriots on this one, but my mind says that the Jets defense is just that good to let Brady torch them through the air. If you didn't know me really well, here is a random fact. I think will my heart more than my mind. So New England don't make me mad. Patriots

Jaguars (1-0) at Chargers (0-1). The Chargers had a hard time stopping the running game by Jamal Charles and Thomas Jones. The Jaguars have one running back named Maurice Jones-Drew. MJD will have good numbers against San Diego, but will not be enough that Phillip Rivers can't handle. Passing game for Chargers does really well without Vincent Jackson. Chargers

Texans (1-0) at Redskins (1-0). Well the Redskins didn't really surprise me against the Cowboys. It was more like the Cowboys disappointed me. The Texans on the other hand really impressed me. I thought they were going to be better from previous years, but they torched the Colts. Arian Foster did most of the work, that is the surprising part of it. Texans win this one comfortably. Texans.

Giants (1-0) at Colts (0-1). Story line for the Giants: Hakeem Nicks is a touchdown machine. Story line for the Colts: Manning is a monster, but the Colts running defense isn't. Even though the Colts let that many points by them in Week 1, I don't think they will be THAT surprised by the running game this week. Giants will score, but the Colts will score more. Colts

Saints (1-0) at 49ers (0-1). The most disappointing team in Week 1 was the 49ers. After believing they could win the NFC West, which they still could do, they got waxed by the Seahawks. If Seahawks can rack up that many, the Saints will be able to score easily. Saints

NFL Week 1 Review

I think it is obvious that I know more about College Football then the NFL. For the College games the first two weeks I had a win percentage above 85% and for the NFL in Week 1 I was 58.8%. Hmmmmm. Well here is the break down of Week 1. What i've learned, what I noticed, and the way I thought things were gonna be.

Saints-14/Vikings-9: Well I had the Saints winning in this one, but I had no idea it was going to be like this. The high scoring offense of the Saints was absolutely not the way Drew Brees and the O wanted it to be. They came out with the win basically on defense. Shut down AP, and the soon to be retired Brett Favre. Teams are going to have to shut down the Saints offense and be able to score on their defense this year if they want to dethrone the champs.

Steelers-15/Falcons-9: Well I had my ATL Falcons coming up with this one, and it was a close game throughout. The Falcons couldn't get their run offense established and Matt Ryan had an average day. The Steelers were on the same boat except for the Mendenhall touchdown in overtime that gave them the win. Both defenses looked pretty good and week 1, but the offenses both could use some work.

Dolphins-15/Bills-10: I had the Dolphins in this one, but I thought they would beat the Bills by a little bit more. The running game for Miami didn't seem to be as explosive as last year, because of their "passing" game they have with ONE wide receiver. The preseason monster for the Bills on the other hand got shut down by Miami. CJ Spiller couldn't find any space for his athleticism and speed. The boy is still nasty, but he shouldn't have let the animal out of the cage in preseason.

Bears-19/Lions-14: This was my upset pick for the week, and it SHOULD have happened. Great catch by Calvin in the endzone, but due to a brain fart he supported himself with the FOOTBALL instead of falling down with ball which would have got him the touchdown. I was really impressed with Best in the game for the Lions, he seems to have one step on a lot of defenders. The Bears didn't really prove to my that they would contend with the Vikings or Packers.

Titans-38/Raiders-13: Well I was absolutely right on this one, except I didn't say anything about Mr.Invisible himself throwing for multiple touchdowns and one to Nate "The Great" Washington. Love the nicknames for these guys. Raiders will not be able to stop a Top 10 RB this season. Previously I said Top 5 to give me a little hope for the Raiders, but I changed my mind. Sorry Ernest "The Furnace" Sullivan.

Patriots-38/Bengals-24: Well I said Moss would get into the endzone and all of his problems with his head would be over, but that didn't happen. Instead little Wes Welker caught two TD's. Brady's offense was in control the whole game, and their defense was solid in the first half at shutting down the run, leaving Palmer to just air it out in the second half. Both QB's looked pretty good, while the RB's didn't do much at all.

Giants-31/Panthers-18: Well I had this one closer than it turned out to be. The Panther's D was very very good except for containing the greatest himself Hakeem Nicks. THREE TD's. What a champ. Besides that the Giants offense really didn't have much against the Panthers. Carolina on the other hand could not establish a running game on the Giants leaving them to have to air it out with Matt Moore and Brandon Lafell who did really well.

Buccaneers-17/Browns-14: This one was the toss up for me. Either team did not show me anything that they would be remotely good this season. Browns will not play with Jake Delhomme in Week 2. So if your going to be betting alot of money for the next game, put it with whoever the Browns play. The most outstanding player on the field sunday was rookie WR Mike Williams. He seemed to be the only one Josh Freeman counted on to make a key catch and well he made a good choice.

Jaguars-24/Denver-17: The key to this game was not MJD3, but David Garrad and Mercedes Lewis. Lewis was a beast against the Broncos LB's trying to guard him in the endzone. Both defences did really good at what they were trying to stop, but forgot about the other part's of the opposing teams offense. Other than that, no body really stood out as REALLY GOOD.

Texans-34/Colts-24: The Houston Texans folks are here to stay. They surprised the Colts with a very good running game with Arian Foster. I do not think Foster will have another game like that this season, because people know what he is actually capable of doing to you. I still think the Colts will win the division even though they lost to the Texans, but it is clear that Houston will be in contention to win this year, if they have the running game working.

Cardinals-17/Rams-13: Both teams are going to have rough season's this year. The victor in this matchup, Arizona, seemed to trust Derek Anderson enough to let him throw the ball around. It still looks like the Cardinals are going to be one-dimensional this year again. That means no Beanie Wells. The Rams are struggling. Steven Jackson did not have a breakout game and Sam Bradford was decent, but not sensational. Pick against the Rams also this year.

Packers-27/Eagles-20: Well I picked the winner in this one, but was really surprised about who did really well and who did not live up to my expectations. Aaron Rodgers was the preseason king and I thought he was the best QB in the NFL. Michael Vick even did better than him in my opionion. Both teams lost two key starters, but it hurt the Packers worse. They lost their starting RB, Ryan Grant, for the whole year. The Eagles on the other hand lost Kevin Kolb, but the way Vick played they should have nothing to worry about for a while.

Seahawks-31/49ers-6: After showing people that they could play and had all the keys to make a run in the NFC West, the 49ers disappointed ALOT of people this week. The worst performance out of any team had to be the 49ers. The SEAHAWKS killed them. Thats not good. Enough said.

Redskins-13/Cowboys-7: This was the second most disappointing performance. The Cowboys who some people had going to the Super Bowl, lost to the drama heavy Redskins. The Cowboys D did do good against Washington, but the offense is just BAD. They have a ton of RB's, really good WR, one of the best TE's. What did I forget? Oh yeah, QB. I believe Tony Romo is not a really good QB. Just saying.

Ravens-10/Jets-9: I got this one wrong, but I knew it was just going to be a hard knocks football game. No I'm not talking about Jets training camp show on HBO, but a defensive heavy game where no offense could do ANYTHING. The Jets would have won this game 9-3, if they didn't hold on to the Baltimore receivers (Kyle Wilson). The Jets D is nasty. The Ravens also have a nasty defense, but Sanchez is not that good. Absolutely the best two defenses in the league though.

Chiefs-21/Chargers-14: Well I predicted this one wrong, but the was a really close game. The Chiefs came out ready to play unlike the Chargers. They dominated the Chargers in the first half with a hard hitting defense and a really good rushing attack. San Diego and Kansas City are going to be battling it out for the AFC West title. I will still give the Chargers the edge in this one though.

Well that's Week 1 folks. Predictions for Week 2 will come out soon. It really really needs to be better. We'll see.
